Maggie McGuinn

Maggie has extensive experience in the Australian corporate sector and mining industry and advises companies on a range of activities and transactions including project acquisitions and divestments, capital raisings, ASX and Corporations Act requirements, transactional work, intellectual property issues, business agreements and general business law matters. She has acted for a range of clients, from large Australian and international listed companies to junior exploration companies and small private businesses.

Following her initial practice years at a leading Australian law firm, Maggie worked as in-house counsel for a large multinational oil company. She went on to spend 10 years working in Melbourne and London for companies associated with Robert Holmes a Court before returning to Perth to take up the position of General Counsel with Hancock Prospecting. She then established her law practice with foundation client comprising the group of companies which became the LionOre Group. She has participated in a wide range of international and domestic transactions including large cross border financings, overseas and ASX listings, IPOs, takeover activity, corporate acquisitions and restructurings, international arbitration, IP licensing, entertainment and film financing deals.

Her experience in private practice and as in-house counsel has contributed to her particular focus on delivering hands-on, practical and cost effective advice and assistance.

Rikke McGlew

Rikke McGlew is a part-time employee of McGuinnLegal working as a paralegal and research assistant.

Rikke is an experienced overseas lawyer having worked for law firms in Denmark, the Danish Foreign Service and a major pharmaceutical company in the US. She has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, contract drafting, securities laws and compliance.

Rikke is not admitted to practice in Western Australia and for that reason works in the capacity as paralegal and research assistant.

Bella Hancock

Bella Hancock works part time for McGuinnLegal as a paralegal while she completes her Juris Doctor postgraduate law degree at the University of Western Australia.

Bella holds a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Business Law and International Relations. She has been involved with the Legal Artificial Intelligence pilot program at UWA during 2017 and is particularly interested in the role emerging technology can play in creating greater value for clients. Her many extra-curricular interests include being part of the Bloom Leadership Group run from the Bloom Lab at St Catherine’s College, a co-working space for young entrepreneurs.

Bella has been with McGuinnLegal since 2014 and is a valued assistant in the areas of mining and corporate law.
